Clerical staff

NECACO had their Social Club during the WWII in a large building in Pool Side where the multi-storey car park is now. As children we use to sit on the steps outside the club an beg for chewing gum from the American soldiers  that use to come to the dances held there.
[saying "Any gum chum"].After the war this building was taken over by Nelson when their shop in Bridge St burnt down.
