UNVEILING THE STATUE OF
DAVID LLOYD GEORGE Aug. 6. 1921

Mr Billy Hughes, Prime Minister of Australia performed the unveiling ceremony. He was a Welsh speaking Welshman, born in Llandudno, and both the premiers used to speak Welsh on the telephone during World War I, in case the Germans may have been listening.

This memorial was erected after World War I and unveiled by the Mayor, Councillor A.H. Richards on November 12 1922.
